  The First Technological Visionary The First Tech Visionary Ada Lovelace is often called the first computer programmer, and for good reason. Her work with Analytical Engine in the 1800s laid the foundation for what we now know as computer programming. But beyond her technical contributions, Ada’s story shows how imagination, opportunity, and perseverance can create lasting change in technology, even for women in times when their contributions were often overlooked. Contributions to Technology Ada Lovelace’s biggest contribution was her detailed notes on the Analytical Engine. She translated a paper from French and added her own explanations, which ended up being three times longer than the original. In her notes, she described how the machine could be programmed to perform calculations using punched cards. One of her most famous notes, Note G, is considered the first computer program.
